What is Novel Night?

Novel Night is an iconic biennial Rye tradition where 10–20 generous hosts open their homes for creative, book-themed parties across town. Guests are then transported to an after-party where everyone comes together from their respectnive themed parties for dessert, dancing, and an unforgettable night in support of the library.

What's the theme?

This year’s theme is “ICONS ONLY.” Parties are inspired by iconic books - think The Wizard of Oz, Sherlock Holmes, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and beyond. As the event approaches, attendees are assigned to a themed party, receive custom invitations, and arrive in full costume for an unforgettable night of immersive food, drinks and fun, followed by an epic after-party.

Can I host a party?

Yes! We are still actively looking for themed party hosts! It is an amazing way to give back to the library while making new friendships right in your home. You choose the iconic book and bring it to life with décor and creativity. You can even co-host with a friend and The Auxiliary Board is here to help with vendors and making the magic happen.
